According to the official website of Menopause The Musical:

?Since March 2001, the hilarious show Menopause The Musical has entertained and inspired women from coast-to-coast and internationally. Menopause The Musical is the work of writer Jeanie Linders. This uplifting 90-minute production includes parodies from the 1960s and 1970s and 1980s. It culminates with a salute to women who are experiencing The Change.

?Set in a department store, where four women with seemingly nothing in common but a black lace bra meet by chance at a lingerie sale. The all-female cast makes fun of their woeful hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats, and chocolate binges.

?A sisterhood is created between these diverse women as they realize that menopause is no longer The Silent Passage! It is a stage in every woman?s life that is perfectly normal!

??Most women know intuitively that every other woman is experiencing hot flashes or night sweats,? says Linders. ?There is always a close friend or two who can sympathize or identify with her, but when they are sitting in a theatre with hundreds of other women, all laughing and shouting ?That?s me! That?s me on stage! They know what they are experiencing is normal. They aren?t alone or crazy. It becomes a sisterhood.?

This 90-minute musical revue features 25 zany parodies of 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s songs

?Millions of women of all ages and stages find their spirits lifted by the show?s light-hearted look at menopause. Menopause The Musical has entertained audiences in more than 450 U.S. cities, in a total of 15 countries and more than 300 international cities. Internationally, the show has been performed in Australia, Canada, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

?Menopause The Musical encourages a healthy dialogue about issues of aging and women?s health and provides a unique opportunity to raise awareness with female audiences. Recognizing the show?s great potential to engage and educate women, writer and producer, Jeanie Linders, produced two tours of Menopause The Musical Out Loud: Breaking the Silence of Ovarian Cancer. These successful tours traveled across America and visited more than 100 different cities raising awareness and funds for local and regional ovarian cancer chapters. Menopause The Musical also supports the Jeanie C. Linders Fund? [http://www.jclfund.org/], a nonprofit organization that supports women in the areas of health, education and culture around the world.?

In reviewing previous productions of Menopause The Musical, Elaine Schmidt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wrote: ?Those estrogen-deprived lyrics ? bring down the house repeatedly. At its core, it?s a gentlespirited celebration of real women, their friendships, and the rough seas they?re forced to navigate as they enter the dreaded territory of middle age.?

Ruth Ann Replogle of the Enid News raved: ?Menopause the Musical is a laugh-so-hard-your-cheeks-hurt comedy?; and The Honolulu Advertiser added, ?The show?s strong pull comes from the freedom to publicly giggle over the more sober personal realities that have come with aging. There?s a genuine liberation to be had in laughing ?.?
