Galicia is a beautiful area constituted of four provinces Lugo, Pontevedra, Ourense and A Courna which is also the capital province of the region. Galicia is popular area in Spain as this part of the country is known as ?The Land with Thousand Rivers? and all the rivers in the area flows across the entire country traveling through the mountains to the coastal areas. The coastal line in the region has a great variety for the tourists ranging from some very smooth and fine beaches to some adventurous cliffs like Costa de Muerte which is also known as ?The Death Coast?.

The weather in the region of Galicia remains rough most of the time and specially during the winters when most of the days are rainy with a minimum temperature of five degrees while the temperature reaches to twenty degrees during the summer seasons.

Galicia is know for its Rias and water dooms and the part of land near the Rias Altas has some very fine beaches, beautiful towns and magnificent villages of fishermen. Rias Baixas is another beautiful area with some great variety of natural resources and preserves and some romantic and peaceful villages.

Galicia is also known to have a rich historical background of many civilizations of pre-historic times. According to some sources Celtic were the first who lived on this part of world. There are number of traces of Roman civilization which have also been found including Lugo Walls, Ourense Bridge and Hercules Tower. The traces of middle age civilizations are also present in the form of Saint James Tomb which is known to be a very religious place and number of visitors travel to this tomb every year to perform pilgrimage.

Galicia has a rich traditional and cultural history belonging to Gaelic and Celtic origins and Gaita is the most famous and known instrument in this part of Spain.

The gastronomy of the region is also very popular including some great and delicious fish and sweets.

A Courna:

Lugo:
