The Fiat Punto GBT

Fiat are leading up to the launch of their 2012 Fiat Punto range, announcing the pricing for the new models all of which will be available to finance.

The entry level model, the cheerily named Fiat Punto Pop starts at just ?9,900 to purchase, lease or finance (subject to status), a sign of Fiat?s determination to make their hatchback fiercely competitive in a market saturated with rivals.

The top of the range Fiat Punto Lounge prices out at a still very reasonable ?15,600.

New low-emission engines

Perhaps the most striking change in the new 2012 Fiat Punto range is the choice of six low-emission Euro 5 compliant engines.

The addition of Fiat?s award-winning TwinAir engine in April will complete the Punto?s engine line-up.

The engine list will then run from the entry-level 1.2 litre 69hp, through to the 1.4 77hp, the powerful 1.4 Multi Air, the TwinAir Engine of the Year 0.9 litre, and the feisty 1.3 MultiJet diesel engine.

The Fiat Punto?s new look

Fiat are describing the Punto?s new styling as an evolution, adding greater sophistication to the existing design elements.

On the exterior, this manifests as fully colour matched front and rear bumpers, and bold new colours: Brit Pop Blue, Tango Red, and Underground Grey.

Fiat are choosing to emphasise their sporty heritage and reputation with the refreshed interior, with sportier seat fabrics and new, updated dashboard inserts.

Fiat focus on trim

The 2012 Fiat Punto range is distinguished by its new and simplified trim levels, a development which is reflected across the Fiat range as a whole.

The three choices are Pop, Easy and Lounge.

The Fiat Punto Pop is the starter option, and includes electric front windows, a radio/CD/MP3 player and a height adjustable driver?s seat.

Safety and security features include front and window airbags, electric power steering and remote central locking.

Upgrading to the Fiat Punto Easy brings luxury touches like air conditioning, a leather steering wheel and 15 inch alloys.

The sport Fiat Punto Easy GBT naturally comes with sport suspension and rear spoiler and side skirts, for extra performance and panache.

Plumping for one of the top-end Lounge models adds automatic dual zone climate control, ambient interior lighting and an electric sunroof as standard.

Plus cruise control, front fog lamps and seven airbags for ease and peace of mind while driving.
